Welcome to the South Shore Wheelers April Newsletter!
Yes, this newsletter is coming our a bit early but we have some events coming up rather quickly so we wanted to get this out now. Before we get into April events, we would like to say welcome to new SSW members that have recently joined. We had several guests join us on our March trail run and they had such a fun time that they decided to join the club. So Welcome!! Looking forward to wheeling with you again and seeing how the builds come together!

April Events
April is a busy month with SSW efforts to support land conservation and give back to those that allow us to use their land for wheeling. It also helps show people that off-roading can be done in a responsible manner. While we don’t have any “official” wheeling trips scheduled for April, the two below events fall under that category due to the locations where we will be. Don’t bring your Honda Accord! ;)
Earth Day Cleanup – April 14
SSW has been hosting land cleanups every year since our inception. To continue this tradition and to celebrate “Earth Day” we have our next scheduled clean up day on Saturday, April 14th in Taunton, MA. We are looking for anyone and everyone to volunteer their time to help us out. Anyone with trailers or large trucks would help greatly. More information can be found in this thread.

West Greenwich Conservation Commission – Earth Day Cleanup – April 21
The West Greenwich Conservation Commission puts this on every year. NEMBA (New England Mountain Bike Association) is a HUGE part of this clean-up. Some of us from SSW went to this clean-up last year with OSJ and NEXTERA. It is a HUGE undertaking going on out there. The organization running it does a very nice job. The 4x4s bring a new ability to go after things out in the woods that are not accessible by street vehicles. Last year we filled pick-up truck beds, ute trailers, and the back of Jeeps with Tires, construction debris, and garbage. We finished off with collecting an a large pile of Steel panels from deep in the woods. John brought the steel to a scrap yard and donated the proceeds in the name of the 4×4 clubs to the West Greenwich Conservation Commission. We will be there with other 4×4 clubs again this year.
